Boeing's shares tumbled nearly 3.5% on Thursday despite securing an additional $173 million contract with the U.S. Air Force for eight MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters. The defense giant has now committed to deliver 34 aircraft, with 18 already handed over including 12 low-rate initial production units.
The market's negative reaction contrasts with Boeing's operational milestone. 'By building on the trusted AW139 platform...' remarked Leonardo Helicopters' Robert Beyer, highlighting the program's technical foundations. Four more helicopters are scheduled for delivery before year-end, destined for Minot Air Force Base and other installations.
